Belay Partner

Belay Partner is a small app for one family, made by one person. It is designed so that there is almost nothing to have a privacy policy about.

What the app stores

Only what you type into it: the names you give your household members, a birth month and year if you choose to add one, the territories, expectations, freedoms, the things your teen enjoys, check-ins, notes and events you create, and a history of those changes.

All of it is stored on your device only, in a single file inside the app's private storage. There are no accounts. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see your data.

What the app does not do

• No analytics, tracking or advertising of any kind.
• No location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or screen-time access.
• No third-party services or SDKs inside the app.
• No network requests at all in the current version.

The parent PIN

If you set a parent PIN it is stored on the device as a salted hash, never in plain text, and never leaves the device.

TestFlight

During testing the app is distributed through Apple's TestFlight. TestFlight itself may send Apple crash logs and any feedback or screenshots you choose to submit through it; that data is governed by Apple's TestFlight terms and privacy policy, and Apple shares crash reports and your feedback with us. The app adds nothing to this.

Children

The app is used by parents. It stores a child's first name and, optionally, birth month and year, only because a parent typed them in, and only on the parent's device. We never receive them.

Deleting your data

Delete the app. Its file goes with it. There is nothing to delete on our side because we never had it.

Changes

If a future version adds accounts, sync or backup, this policy will change first and the app will ask before anything leaves the device.
